If you have a BMX bike that you have out grown or updated and you no longer want - Eastfield is looking for a few bikes as spares.

Track closed and gate practice - The track will remain closed until Monday 20 April. Gate practise will still be on for Tuesday 21 April

Track closed over Easter - Eastfield Bmx Track will be closed over easter from Friday the 10th to Tuesday the 14th due to track maintenance.

Spare bikes for club use - If you have a BMX bike that you have out grown or updated and you no longer want - Eastfield is looking for a few bikes as spares. We are getting a number of new riders turning up at the track for practice on Tuesday nights as well as Saturday club meets and we do not have enough bikes to loan to them. So if you have one that we can use or you are wanting to sell one please bring to the track either Tuesday night - 6pm onwards or on our next club meet.

Clash of the Titans entries - Entries for the Clash of the Titans close last mail on Friday 17th April 2009.

Track maintenance - Eastfield BMX Club will be starting in the next few weeks to upgrade our track ready for this years Interclub and State Championships. The work will be carried over a couple of months and we will not be adding the final surface untill we are completely happy with the base. So we ask all BMX members to be patient with us as we prepare the track for the upcoming events.

Once the track is complete we will let you know but in the mean time please feel free to call in and ride the track as work continues.

HRV Old School Racer - Tony Harvey is holding a training session aimed at racers 30 years and older on 29 March at Park Orchards BMX track. More details on the HRV Old School Racer flyer.

2009 Annual General Meeting - The 2009 annual general meeting will be held after club day racing this Saturday. In light of the busy year ahead with the state titles and interclub, plus the usual open race meetings, people are encouraged to nominate for committee positions.

BMXV Rider Of The Year / Bushifire Appeal Night - On the 14 February BMXV are holding their rider of the year night.  All proceeds from this night will now be donated to the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal.  We will be auctioning jerseys signed by the 2009 BMXV State Team, one signed by Dave O'Neil, Ian 'Dicko' Dickson and Chrisy Swan from Vega FM Breakfast and one signed by Dave Hughes Kate Langbroek and Ed Kavalee from Nova Breakfast.

Also the company I work for, Ariens/Gravely, are donating a LM21SW walk behind Lawn Mower valued at $1500 that will be raffled on the night. HRV Fitness Ultimate Racer - Tony Harvey is holding another of his Ultimate Racer training camps this weekend at Park Orchards. More details on the HRV Fitness Ultimate Racer flyer.

BMXV 2008 Rider of the Year Awards - BMX Victoria will be holding their End of Season event at the Jika International in Fairfield on Saturday the 14th of February starting at 7.30pm.  The 2008 BMXV rider of the year awards will be handed out at this event.  4 categories will be awarded BMXV Rider of the Year awards.  Junior Rider of the Year (riders that were 14 or younger in 2008) Senior rider of the year (Riders between the ages of 14 – 30 in 2008) and vet rider of the year (riders 30 and over in 2008).  As well there will be an overall rider of the year which will be awarded to the highest polling rider across the 3 age categories. (please note the rider that wins the 2008 Rider of the Year will not win their age class as well).  A experienced panel of BMX identities have made the following nominations in the 3 age categories.

January working bee - On Sunday, 11 January 2009 there will be a working bee to help prepare the track for the club's round of Track Attack 2009. Work starts at 8:00am.

Victorian Open BMX championships - Congratulations to all competitors in last weekend's Victorian Open BMX Championships. Everyone represented the club well and more than a few managed to bring home some state plates and what better chance to defend those plates than at next years meeting that will be held at Eastfield. Check the December newsletter for a listing of all results for club members.
